Q: What happens if it rains?

A:  Rain is a big problem for two reasons. Rain can wash away the seal or severely dilute the product. The other issue is splatter damage that rain can cause on siding, garage doors, and pavers. It is for this reason that anytime there is a good chance of rain New Look Seal will have to postpone your scheduled driveway seal. 

 

New Look Seal does not overbook trucks which means if we ever have to reschedule because of rain, you will be postponed days, not weeks.

Q: Are you insured?

​

A: Yes, New Look Seal carries all necessary insurnaces. ​

​

Q: This is my first time this driveway has been sealed. Do you do anything different?

​

A: The first time asphalt is sealed we still apply one hand coat with brooms, but the driveway soaks up the sealer and takes 2X-3X the material. The price will reduce 40 to 60% the next time the asphalt is sealed.

Q: Do I have to be home? 

​

A: No. But, if you're not going to be home please make sure all vehicles and obstructions are off the driveway.

​

Please also arrange for payment. Putting a check in an envelope and taping it to the front door is an effective way to complete the process.

Q: How long should I stay off the driveway? 

​

New Look sealer always includes Tar-Gel a fast drying and curing additivie that toughens and hardens sealer while cutting drying time dramatically. To be safe please remain off the driveway with vehicles for at least 24 hours, but we recommend 48 hours. You can walk on it in less than 12.

Q: How often should we seal the driveway?

​

A: New Look seal uses quality commerical grade sealer and hand applies everything by  broom application. It is recommended that you seal your driveway every 2-3 years depending on traffic use, and wear and tear from the snow plow.

Q: Do you block the driveway off? 

​

A: Yes. We put up a temporary, disposable barricade.

​

Q: What is my scheduled day?

​

A: New Look seal tries to avoid giving exact scheduled days when possible because of the weather-contigent nature of the business. Whether you are given a set day in advance or not you will always recieve a reminder call the day before.

Q: Do I have to get the driveway ready? 

​

A: We take care off all prep-work. Trimming the grass from the edge of the driveway and throughout the driveway, and cleaning off the driveway with a wire broom and power blower. If needed we will prime oil spots, and we will remove most obsturctions as well. 

​

Q: What about Oil spots?

​

A: Sealing your driveway will help prevent damange occuring from vehicles leaking oil. New Look seal will prime oil spots with a primer, which will cover the damage and prevent further damage, but will not erase the damage.

​

 If you have the time or iniative to do so,  use dawn dish soap to scrub the oil spot then we will prime it with the oil spot primer for the most effective way to erase and hide oil spots.
